Polypropylene (PP) sheet is a thermoplastic polymer derived from the addition polymerization of propylene, known for its light weight, durability, and environmental compatibility. It is a non-toxic, odorless, and translucent material that combines excellent mechanical strength with high resistance to chemicals, heat, and wear. Produced by melting and extruding polypropylene granules, these sheets exhibit strong electrical insulation and superior processing properties, making them highly adaptable for industrial and consumer applications. With a melting temperature around 130°C and a heat distortion temperature of 100°C under pressure, PP sheets maintain structural integrity under moderate heat. They feature a low density of 0.91 g/cm³, outstanding barrier performance, and a shrinkage rate of 1.5–2.0%, contributing to high dimensional stability. Environmentally friendly and fully recyclable, polypropylene sheets emit no harmful gases when heated or burned, ensuring safety for both human use and equipment—qualities that position PP as a sustainable, green material choice for modern packaging and industrial production.
